TwinDesk lets you control your Mac, Windows PC, Linux box and Android phone with a single mouse and keyboard, sharing screens, files, clipboard, calls, texts and notifications between them. It's aimed at people who juggle more than one computer and are tired of emailing files to themselves or picking up their phone every few minutes.

Before you start: when installing the APK by hand, Android will ask to allow your browser or Files app to install unknown apps. Go to Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install. If Play Protect warns about an unrecognised developer, tap More details then Install anyway. On Android 13 and later, notification access and Accessibility are restricted settings: open Settings > Apps > TwinDesk, tap the three-dot menu, choose Allow restricted settings, then turn them on. Alternatively, the full app with notifications, texts and Accessibility enabled can be installed for you by the computer over wireless debugging, which lets Android turn those permissions on automatically.

Key features
- Move the mouse off the edge of one screen and it carries on to the next device, keyboard included
- Copy on one device, paste on another, and drag files across the edge to move them
- ReZume brings the tab, video or document you were using to the device you pick up next
- Works on the same Wi-Fi, over USB, or with no shared network at all using Bluetooth and a direct Wi-Fi link
- No account, no cloud, no telemetry: devices talk directly to each other with end-to-end encryption
Why isn’t TwinDesk on Google Play?
It's published by its developer on GitHub rather than the Play Store; it is not listed on F-Droid either.
Is TwinDesk safe?
TwinDesk is open source under the GPL-3.0 license, and the APK comes straight from the developer's GitHub releases page. It is not code-signed, so Android (and Play Protect) will warn about an unrecognised developer on first install, and the full version needs notification access and Accessibility permissions turned on manually to handle calls, texts and notifications. TwinDesk comes straight from its developer rather than through Google Play, so it hasn’t gone through Google’s app review. As with any app, check the permissions it asks for and install it if you’re comfortable with them.
How to install
- Tap the download button above: the APK file downloads straight to your phone.
- When Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps.
- Open the file and tap Install.
