AppsApk is built so you can download Android apps with confidence. Every app here is published on Google Play, and the exact APK file we host is independently checked and given a trust badge. Here is exactly what that badge means and how we verify each file.
How we verify every APK
- Google Play provenance. Every app on AppsApk has an official Google Play listing — these are real, published apps, not unknown uploads.
- Digital signature check. We confirm the APK we host carries a valid Android signature block (v1/v2/v3) — proof it is a properly signed build, not an unsigned or stripped file.
- VirusTotal antivirus scan. We compute the file’s SHA-256 fingerprint and scan it with VirusTotal, which runs the exact file against 70+ commercial antivirus engines. We publish the real result and a link to the full report.
- Published SHA-256 hash. The file’s fingerprint is shown on every app page so you can independently confirm you downloaded the exact file we verified.
What the trust badge shows
The badge wording always reflects what has actually been verified for that specific file — we never label a file “safe” until it has been scanned:
| Google Play App | The app is published on Google Play (baseline provenance). |
|---|---|
| Digitally Signed | The hosted APK carries a valid developer signature block. |
| Verified Safe | The file is signed and 0 VirusTotal antivirus engines flagged it. |
| Use Caution | One or two engines flagged the file (often a false positive) — the count and full report are shown so you can decide. |
| Security Warning | Several engines flagged the file. We show a warning and withhold the download. |
Frequently asked questions
Is AppsApk safe?
Yes. Every app on AppsApk is published on Google Play, and the exact APK file we host is independently checked. We confirm the file carries a valid digital signature and we scan it with VirusTotal, which runs it against 70+ commercial antivirus engines. The result is shown as a trust badge on each app page, and we never label a file “safe” until it has actually been scanned.
What does the green “Verified Safe” badge mean?
It means three things are true for that app: it is published on Google Play, the APK we host carries a valid digital signature, and zero of VirusTotal’s antivirus engines flagged the exact file we serve. The file’s SHA-256 fingerprint is published on the page so you can verify it yourself.
How do you check APKs for malware?
When we cache an APK we compute its SHA-256 fingerprint and look it up on VirusTotal, which runs the file against 70+ antivirus engines. We display the real result, for example “0 / 70 flagged”, along with a link to the full VirusTotal report so you can read it in detail.
What is the APK signature check?
Android apps are cryptographically signed before they can be installed. We confirm the APK we host carries a valid v1, v2 or v3 signature block — i.e. it is a properly signed Android build, not an unsigned or stripped file. Together with the VirusTotal scan and the published SHA-256, this lets you confirm you are installing a legitimate, signed APK.
Are the APKs on AppsApk modified?
No. AppsApk does not repackage, modify, or inject anything into the APKs — we serve the developer’s signed build as published. The valid signature, the published SHA-256 hash, and the VirusTotal scan let you independently verify the exact file before you install it.
What happens if an app is flagged?
If several antivirus engines flag a file we show a warning and withhold the download. A single flag is very often a false positive, so when only one or two engines react we show the exact count and link the full VirusTotal report so you can make your own decision.
Can I verify a download myself?
Yes. Each app page shows the APK’s SHA-256 hash. After downloading, compute the SHA-256 of your file and confirm it matches the one on the page, and open the linked VirusTotal report to see the full antivirus scan.
